Read a book, do an art project, have a conversation with a child at Gilead House, a transitional housing facility for families in need, where 100% of the children in residence are behind grade level and in need of extra care and attention. A two-hour training and orientation session is required before serving. Sessions take place from 6:30-7:30pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Gilead House. Teenagers are welcome; children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent. Volunteers are also needed to partner with St. John’s clergy in leading a Bible Study at Gilead. Please email to learn more or to sign up. Signup for volunteers who have already been through orientation can be found here.
