Once a year we gather together as a community for two days and two nights of fellowship, fun, rest, and spiritual development at the Bishop's Ranch retreat center in Healdsburg (wine country in Sonoma County). This all-ages gathering includes program time to nourish your soul, sabbath time to deepen your connection to God, and free time to enrich your relationship to the community. All this in a beautiful setting with delicious food lovingly prepared by Ranch staff, and plenty of hiking trails to explore and Adirondack chairs to investigate.
This year's Weekend Away is September 14 - 16. We begin on Friday evening with a pot luck supper for those who can make it. Meals are provided by the Ranch all day Saturday and for breakfast on Sunday. We end the weekend with an all-ages worship service on Sunday. Although we need to be clear of our rooms by noon, we are allowed to hang around the Ranch and stretch the sabbath a bit.
Please contact the Parish Office for more information or to reserve a spot.
Every Spring our Men's Group gathers at St Dorothy's Rest (just outside Occidental in Sonoma County) for a weekend of spiritual reflection, fellowship, and deep contemplation of the things that really matter in life (like fresh grilled salmon). All men are welcome and no prior experience with or participation in Men's Group activities is required. This year's retreat will be May 10–12. Last year, nineteen men attended and during our workshop time we explored the theme of fear in daily life (and it's antidote: trust). Eight of us put our theology into practice by visiting a nearby zip-line operation, high up in the Redwood canopy.
