The tradition of the Episcopal Church is a living tradition, rooted in ancient history, yet awake and alive to the present time. Every Sunday morning at St John's we recite prayers that have been part of the treasury of Christian worship for thousands of years, but we recite them with the understanding that they must mean something for us today.
At St John's, when we talk about connecting to tradition, we mean participating in the kinds of things that people have always done, and which sustain and nurture hope, joy, grace, and peace in the world. Sunday worship, rites of passage, Sacraments, and seasonal celebrations help us mark time and frame the events of our lives with meaning and purpose.
