The 2011 Tour de Noel was a huge success, raising over $62,000 for charities. The weekend started with a beautiful play, A Christmas
Memory by Truman Capote, that over 100 people attended, preceded by
the boutique and a reception afterwards. The boutique was flooded
with sales. Saturday was a beautiful day and over1200 guests arrived up to tour
the four beautifully decorated homes. The boutique was again very
busy, with jams and jellies sold out by 10 a.m. We served hundreds of
lunches and many teas, a first time event for the latter.
Who the Tour Benefits
Proceeds from the weekend’s events support charities helping those in need in Marin county and beyond, including Gilead House, Canal Alliance, A Home Away from Homelessness, The Marin Emergency Rotating Shelter for the Homeless, Northern Light School, Seeds of Learning and Global AIDS Interfaith Alliance (GAIA). The Tour Volunteers and Staff of St. John's
This event would not be possible without all of the people
who contribut and volunteer, in some cases, months, and many, many hours of work to make the Tour de Noel weekend the
spectacular even that it is each year. There are Lots of opportunities for Parishioners to volunteer and join in the Holiday fun! We need people to staff the homes as docents, drive vans, help with lunch and tea, and prepare goods for the boutique.
For more info, please contact the Tour de Noel staff at Coffee hour after the 10:00am service.
or contact our Parish Coordinator Arlene Henry at 456-1102
