We Are Grateful: St. John's 2016 Annual Fund Drive

We experience gratitude in many ways at St. John’s — breaking bread at Dinner Church, singing in the choir, serving dinner at the REST shelters, or communing at coffee hour. As you reflect on your own experience of gratitude at St. John’s, please consider giving generously to the 2016 Annual Fund. Your financial support will allow us to continue creating a church that gives meaning to our lives, allows gratitude to flourish, and highlights God’s love among and within each of us.

A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols: December 13

The great tradition of Nine Lessons and Carols is best experienced rather than explained, and our parish and extended community will delight in this most excellent and joyous of Anglican traditions on Sunday, December 13, at 5pm. It will feature Advent and Christmas music given by our St. Cecilia, St. Hildegard, and Chancel Choirs, as well as string players and organ; there will also be Advent hymns and Christmas Carols to sing by the whole congregation. Nine Lessons and Carols traditionally begins in darkness with one child's voice singing the opening carol, leading up to the Ninth Lesson, read by the Rector, when all the lights go on! It is theatre, literature, choral music, and most of all a celebration of our entire community, as leaders from guilds and groups within our parish read the Lessons. (Please note that tickets for the Christmas dinner are SOLD OUT.)
