The Rev. Chuck Gompertz

The Rev. Charles B. Gompertz (Chuck) has been associated with St John’s since 1962. He was the Curate (assistant), his first job out of the Seminary, The Church Divinity School of the Pacific. After leaving in 1965 to found the Church in Ignacio and other adventures, he returned as a Priest Worker in 1984.

He is a Bay Area native and a graduate of UC Berkeley. His passion in ministry is to make the Gospel relevant and meaningful in daily life. To see the Good News in Jesus Christ as the armature around which all we do and all we are is wrapped.

Chuck is married to Leslie and they have a son, Ross. Chuck also has two daughters Pamela and Margaret and a son, John - granddaughters, Leslie and Charlie round out the group.

He lives on a ranch in Nicasio with olive trees, cattle, chickens, bees, dogs and an ancient bunny.
