Youth Ministry at St. John’s
Ministry with Youth is central to our calling as a parish and happens throughout the life of the church. From September to June, our Junior and Senior High YoothGroops meet every Sunday according to the following schedule:
10am Sunday Mornings (6th-12th Grade)
Students and adult leaders engage in big questions of faith including “Is God Male?” “Is the Bible True?” “Why does God let bad things happen?” and “Why should I pray?” through media, games, and other hands-on activities. Join us in the Youth Room.
Junior High YoothGroop (6th-8th grade)
meets every Sunday from 5:30pm to 7pm, including dinner from 6:30 to 7pm. Kids and mentors play games, talk about their lives, and support each other in hands-on prayer activities.
Senior High YoothGroop (9th-12th grade)
meets every Sunday from 6:30pm to 8pm, including dinner from 6:30 to 7pm. Youth and mentors play games, talk about their lives, share worship experiences and support one another in prayer and reflection.
Annual Service and Learning Trip
Each Summer the youth of St. John’s take a trip dedicated to learning, service, and experiencing God in a new context. The week-long trip is filled with experiences that call on the group to stretch, grow, learn and serve.
Youth are also invited to participate in all areas of the life of the church – to serve as acolytes, lectors, song leaders, choir members; to serve and to lead on our outreach projects. For further information about our youth program and other activities, please email or phone (415.456.1102) our Director of Youth Ministry.
