Anglican Archbishop Desmond Tutu put it best when he said that "human beings are made for interdependency." Being in community is the best way for people to realize their potential as individuals, but also to fulfill our common calling to be what St Paul called "the body of Christ."
St John's is a community of people who worship, play, study, sing, celebrate, and volunteer together. Making space for shared experience, together we build a foundation of support and trust for one another — and from this foundation extend ourselves to our neighbors. Jesus commanded his disciples to “love one another” as he had loved them. Above all, building community requires that we love one another. This is not always easy, but in everything we do, we strive to fulfill this basic commandment.
