The Rev. Happy Pathik was born and raised in India. He immigrated to the US in 2006. Happy completed his M. Div. at the Asian Center for Theological Studies in South Korea in 1996, Th. M. (Master of Theology) from the International School of Theology, Philippines in 2001, and a M. A. in Missions from New Orleans Baptist Seminary in 2009.
Happy was ordained as a deacon in the Church of North India in 2006 and as an Episcopal priest in San Francisco in 2017. He has ministered in India, South Korea, the Philippines, Kazakhstan, and throughout the US.
Presently he works as a hospice and palliative care chaplain in the San Francisco Bay Area. Happy believes that the church is called to preach the good news of God’s Kingdom on earth. His favorite authors are Kazoh Kitamori, C. S. Lewis, Peter Kreeft, Vishal Mangalwadi, and Watchman Nee.
He likes playing chess, cycling, going for road trips, graphic design, and having friendly discussions on philosophy, comparative religion, and science. Happy lives in Novato with his wife Sandra, Director of Children’s Ministry at St. John’s, and his eleven-year-old daughter.
